Regardless of which school they are in all Excelsior pupils are offered the same opportunities.
Key Stage 3 Years 7 - 9
At Key Stage 3 (KS3) all four 11 to 16 schools offer the same curriculum opportunities within the same broad framework. Each pupil’s learning is personalised to take account of prior learning and individual potential. All pupils study the National Curriculum core subjects of English, Maths , Science and ICT and have the opportunity to study a wide range of additional subjects.

In addition pupils are offered a wide range of subjects and courses including traditional subjects such as History, Geography, French, Art and Music as well as vocational courses and qualifications for example Leadership Awards, Duke of Edinburgh Awards, ASDAN, Certificate Of Personal Effectiveness (COPE).
KEY STAGE 4 - YEARS 10 AND 11
All schools offer all pupils similar,equal learning opportunities and qualifications through the Key Stage4 (KS4) core curriculum areas plus a range of courses and qualifications through the specialist option courses.
All pupils are offered the opportunity to follow any KS4 specialist course offered through any of the four 11 to 16 schools regardless of the school in which they are based.
The learning experience and opportunities for each pupil are personalised and will take account of the progress made in their standards of literacy and numeracy.
All pupils in all schools continue courses in the KS4 Core Curriculum areas of

• English/Literacy/Communication
• Information and Communications Technology (ICT)
• Science - Biology, Chemistry, Physics
• Citizenship/Careers
• PE/Fitness/Health Related/PSHE
Other traditional subjects are offered in each school.
All pupils follow a course to gain qualifications in Maths, English and ICT. |
